10 Meetups On Toto Asia You Should Attend

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto believed that North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure that the next generation could comprehend them. Many words were substituted with foreign ones. For instance dui, which was Bengali for verandah, was being used.

Origins

Incorporated in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's growth. In the first half of 1917, Toto made goods to meet the demand for modern, brand new urban housing. To do  토토사이트 추천 , it used the first tunnel kiln in the country to make ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered the use of automation to control production, which allows for greater efficiency and consistency.

The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s in order to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. The company established the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other manufacturers' products in order to expand its line of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped to increase sales and expand the firm’s global market share.

In the 1990s, Toto began to focus on research and development for water-related appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better serve its customers and increase profit. The company embraced a just-in time method of managing supply chains and used the same approach for its sales process. This led to a higher degree of customer satisfaction.

Toto continues to invent toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for instance, has a powerful tornado flush that is more eco friendly than traditional toilets. The company makes use of recycled water in its manufacturing process, and has a green buying policy. In addition to toilets Toto produces bathtubs and faucets and hand dryers that are more energy efficient than conventional models.

The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It hosts exhibits on Toto’s seminal products and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are ceramics) as well as the history of plumbing and other products like bath units. In a separate gallery you will find Toto products sold all over. The museum houses the bathroom equipped with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.

Before forming Toto, members of the band did session work for many musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich and guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather and drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also performed on albums by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name as evocative as Asia one would think that the group would be prog queens and kings but they're actually a fairly straightforward rock group. The group started out as a quartet and recorded two albums: 1979's self-titled debut album, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The band has a varied musical background, but their biggest success came in 1982 when they released Toto IV.

The album was a huge blockbuster, however it did not come without its share of problems. Record companies put the band on the place with the directive "give us a hit record or we'll take you off the market" and the pressure was on them to give it. Luckily for Toto they delivered, with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is due to their previous experience, as the band members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior to forming the group. Their sonic signature has since become the standard for  pop music from the 1980s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.

The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into you. The album also features more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song mixes folk and the distorted AOR which could appear completely unnatural, but actually works extremely well.

After Toto IV, the band's fortunes began to decline. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career and the band had several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.

Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. However, the band still had a successful chart-topping album in 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was the first to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Steve Lukather and Joe Williams have formed a strong colorful friendship that is thriving professionally on a global basis. In 2018 the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around the Sun with a massively successful global tour. The album that bears the same name reached #5 on Billboard 200. The new tour by the band includes their best hits and rarely live cuts, alongside some of the songs from Lukather and Williams' individual catalogs.

Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was a return to a traditional sextet style, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. Its edgier sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard playing was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released their new studio album just a few months after and embarked on a world tour support it. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demos and tapes in search of a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was completed in 2001 as a duo album titled Then & Now. It was the first album by the band not to include a single song with the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and singer Williams suffered from a bad laryngitis condition which limited his singing capabilities. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville and drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.

Downes along with the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally reforming the group. The lineup, with the exception of Howe who was working with Yes during that period, was later renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured an appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
